Oubre shrugs off Drake's trash talk: 'It's pretty cool' to be associated with him
Kelly Oubre was seen exchanging words with Toronto Raptors global ambassador Drake during Game 2 on Tuesday, but he says it's all love.
Drake was caught on camera calling Oubre a "bum" as the shooting guard ran past him, but the Washington Wizards star brushed that off when asked about it after the game.
"That's my guy, though. I see him in the summer time ... we pretty much run the streets of L.A. together, on the A-list tip, not in the hood way," Oubre told ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk.
"At the end of the day, he is a great rapper, I listen to him in my headphones, I have no beef with him. I just think it's pretty cool that my name is mentioned in the same conversation as his."
With his team taking a 2-0 series advantage over the Wizards, Drake had plenty of energy to talk trash. He was seen chatting with several Wizards throughout the night as he lobbed his fair share of barbs at both Oubre and John Wall.
Oubre threw plenty of words back at Drake, and hung 14 points on the Raptors, but the tape never caught that.
"The camera got him saying I was a bum, but at the end of the day, it didn't see me shoot a three right after that, so it is what it is. It's all fun and games. He's a fan and he's coming to support his team, and I'm just coming to play. At the end of the day it's all love," Oubre said.
