Kerr: Curry 'is not going to play anytime soon'
Stephen Curry is making progress in his recovery from a Grade 2 left MCL sprain, but the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player still needs more time before he can return to action.
"Steph is not going to play anytime soon," Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said ahead of Game 4 against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday afternoon, according to the Mercury News' Mark Medina. "But he's come along well and has looked good in practice."
The Warriors announced Friday that Curry would begin taking part in modified practices over the weekend and would be re-evaluated in one week. He completed all of his drills on Saturday but has yet to engage in a full contact practice.
"I can't put a timetable on it," added Kerr. "But I think he's coming along well.
"He's really feeling healthy and getting better. He still has a few limitations he's trying to work through with no pain. I think he's on track."
Curry has been sidelined since March 23 with the injury, but that hasn't hindered his Warriors in the postseason just yet, as they entered Sunday with a 3-0 series lead over the Spurs.
Should they close out San Antonio, they'll take on the New Orleans Pelicans in the second round.
