Derek Fisher proposes to Matt Barnes' ex-wife, Gloria Govan

Former NBA point guard and head coach Derek Fisher proposed to his girlfriend, Gloria Govan, on April 7, according to TMZ Sports.

And she said "yes."

Govan is the ex-wife of Matt Barnes, who retired from the NBA in December of last year. The two had twin sons in 2008.

Fisher and Govan - who've been dating since 2015 - were surrounded by the children and Govan's nephew at their home in Los Angeles.

Barnes offered his congratulations to the happy couple.

"I have two beautiful boys from my ex and we are both focusing on co-parenting and providing the best atmosphere and childhood for them," Barnes said. "They love him, so I love it. Despite not seeing eye to eye initially with Derek, he and I are on the same page and communicate weekly about Isaiah and Carter.

"With that being said, congrats on the engagement."

Barnes was suspended two games in 2015 after getting involved in a physical altercation with Fisher at Govan's home on Oct. 3, 2015. Barnes had been unaware that the two were seeing each other at the time.
