Lithuanian ex-teammate described LaMelo as 'lazy, arrogant'
A week after the Ball family bailed on Lithuanian basketball with LaVar lamenting that the "coach ruined everything," anonymous former teammates are taking shots at youngest son LaMelo.
"For LaMelo, (the experience) wasn't very good," ESPN's Jeff Goodman said on "Outside the Lines" Monday. "One former teammate described him to me earlier today as lazy and arrogant. Multiple people I talked to on that team, on (team BC) Vytautas, said LaMelo really never bought in."
LaMelo, 16, only played in eight Lithuanian games, averaging 6.5 points.
Projected by some scouts to have the highest ceiling of the Ball brothers - including Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo - LaMelo is expected to play in LaVar Ball's new Junior Basketball Association this summer. Middle brother LiAngelo has declared for June's NBA draft, where he's not expected to be picked.
