Jason Smith to exercise player option, remain with Wizards

Jason Smith is staying in the nation's capital for at least one more season.
The 32-year-old power forward revealed on the "Wizards Tipoff" podcast that he will be exercising his $5.4-million player option to remain a member of the Washington Wizards in 2018-19.
Smith inked a three-year, $16-million contract with the organization in July 2016.
He played a grand total of two minutes during Washington's opening-round series against the Toronto Raptors, which it lost in six games. Smith averaged 8.6 minutes across 33 outings during the regular season, contributing 3.4 points and 1.6 rebounds on 39.1 percent shooting.
