Watch: Kobe surprises boy with epilepsy on 'The View'
Six-year-old Bryson Thompson and his family got a surprise visit from Kobe Bryant on ABC's "The View" Wednesday morning.
Bryson was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was four, and the condition was so severe that at one point he was suffering 100 seizures a day. The Thompson family credits Jack's Helping Hand with helping to manage Bryson's condition and has decided to give back to the organization by auctioning off signed sports memorabilia.
After surprising the family with several autographed items from NBA and NFL players to add to the auction, "The View" brought out Bryant to present them with his jersey.
"It's a belief that we all have a responsibility to each other, to help one another," Bryant said about his motivation for getting involved with the event. "If you have the opportunity to do that, it's our responsibility as people to help one another. And that's it, simple as that."
