Iguodala doubtful for Game 4 with sore left knee
Golden State Warriors swingman Andre Iguodala is doubtful for Game 4 of the Western Conference finals against the Houston Rockets due to left knee soreness, Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters Monday.
Iguodala appeared to suffer the injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's Game 3 while defending Rockets guard James Harden on a drive. As Iguodala stripped him, Harden tripped and fell, and appeared to land on Iguodala's lower leg.
Iguodala came out of the game less than a minute later and did not return. Kerr said the soreness worsened overnight and Iguodala didn't practice on Monday.
A sixth man throughout the regular season, Iguodala has started 12 of the Warriors' 13 games in these playoffs, first slotting in as Steph Curry's replacement at point guard, and later replacing center JaVale McGee as Golden State opted to start small with its vaunted Death/Hamptons 5 Lineup.
Through the first three games of the conference finals, the 34-year-old has averaged 8.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.7 steals while shooting 61.5 percent from the field and seeing ample time defending both of Houston's dynamic guards. For the postseason, Iguodala has the second-best individual net rating (plus-13.6) and on/off differential (plus-7.2) on the Warriors, behind only Draymond Green.
