Report: Lakers don't consider any player untouchable
The Los Angeles Lakers are happy with their young core, but are keeping their options open in case an opportunity to improve arises.
No player on the roster - including Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Josh Hart - is considered untouchable by the front office, sources said, according to the Los Angeles Times' Tania Ganguli.
That isn't to say any players are being actively shopped by the Lakers, but calls will be considered if the offer is intriguing, Ganguli added.
The Lakers haven't made the playoffs in five years and have actively been attempting to clear cap space since giving large contracts to Timofey Mozgov and Luol Deng in 2016. After trading for expiring deals like Brook Lopez, Isaiah Thomas, and Channing Frye, Los Angeles has opened up enough space for at least one max contract.
With Paul George and LeBron James heading into free agency this offseason, it's fair to assume both will be on Magic Johnson's radar. George, in particular, has been attached to the Lakers for a while now.
