Knicks draft Mitchell Robinson with No. 36 pick
With the 36th pick in the NBA Draft, the New York Knicks selected center Mitchell Robinson.
Robinson is somewhat of an unknown commodity. Though the five-star recruit and McDonald's All-American was highly sought-after coming out of high school, his commitment to Western Kentucky raised eyebrows - as did his subsequent decisions to leave the program last summer before playing a single minute of college basketball.
As Robinson briefly attended classes and practiced with the team at Western Kentucky, he was ruled ineligible to play in the G League, so he's essentially been off the radar for a full year while preparing for the 2018 draft. He's projected to be in the mold of an athletic, shot-blocking center, but has also been working on his range to accent his above-the-rim scoring ability.

- "One of the most talented defensive centers in a class full of great defensive centers, Robinson is a tantalizing big man with his combination of commanding size and quick twitch athleticism." - Mike Gribanov, The Stepien
