New York holds the No. 9 pick in the June 21 draft, but some teams are curious as to whether the Knicks are looking to improve their position.

There are several organizations with picks in the top 10 that have reached out to the Knicks to gauge their interest in moving up in the draft to select Missouri freshman Michael Porter Jr., league sources told Ian Begley of ESPN.

It's believed Knicks president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry are fans of the 6-foot-11 forward, though the organization has given no indication of who it will select with its first-round pick in the draft.

However, both Mills and Perry are scheduled to make a trip to Chicago on Friday to watch a Porter Jr. workout, and the Knicks also had officials attend his pro day last week, team sources told Begley.

Porter Jr. missed all but three games last year in his lone college season due to a back injury, and his draft position has therefore been difficult to predict, with some mock drafts projecting him to go as high as No. 5 and others as low as the late lottery.

In his three games with the Tigers, he averaged 10 points and 6.7 rebounds in 17.7 minutes.
