With the No. 46 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets team drafted USC guard De'Anthony Melton.
Melton averaged 8.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 2016-17 for the Trojans. USC suspended Melton in January 2018 after an NCAA corruption probe revealed that a close family friend received an extra benefit. He then withdrew from USC the following month to focus on his professional career.

What the analysts are saying
- "While he has a ways to go in terms of his ball-handling, lead guard skills, and shooting stroke, and certainly needs more time and experience before he's ready to play in the NBA, Melton has caught the attention of scouts thanks to his impressive physical tools, sharp defensive instincts, and strong feel for the game." - Draft Express' Mike Schmitz
- "Melton wasn't an above-average scorer at Southern California and struggled with consistency from long range, but he showed promise in spurts of being an NBA-level defensive standout." - CBS
