The Detroit Pistons have split with general manager Jeff Bower after four seasons, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Bower worked under former president of basketball operations and head coach Stan Van Gundy, who parted ways with Detroit in early May.

The Pistons appear to be cleaning house after a four-year regime with Van Gundy and Bower presiding over key decision-making. The team went just 152-176 in the regular season over that span, with a four-game sweep at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 serving as its only playoff appearance.

Among the key front-office decisions made with Van Gundy and Bower at the helm include the 2015 trade to acquire point guard Reggie Jackson in a three-team trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz, signing center Andre Drummond to a five-year, $127.2-million extension in 2016, and this past season's blockbuster acquisition of Blake Griffin from the Los Angeles Clippers.

Detroit has already hired longtime NBA executive Ed Stefanski as an adviser to team owner Tom Gores while the team undergoes an overhaul. With vacancies in both the front office and behind the bench, there has been no shortage of names tied to the Pistons' jobs. Former Toronto Raptors coach Dwane Casey, former All-Star Juwan Howard, TNT analyst Kenny Smith, and current Michigan coach John Beilein have reportedly been interviewed or linked to the coaching position, while former Pistons standout Tayshaun Prince and league office executive Kiki VanDeWeghe have been connected to front-office roles.
