Report: Pistons to interview Kidd for coaching job
The Detroit Pistons will interview Jason Kidd for their vacant head coaching job on Saturday, sources told Yahoo's Jordan Schultz.
The former Milwaukee Bucks coach was reportedly in the running for the Phoenix Suns job before the Suns hired Igor Kokoskov.
Kidd was fired by the Bucks in late January, after failing to elevate the team past .500-level production despite the top-end talent on the roster. He coached the Bucks to a 139-152 record and two playoff berths (both first-round exits) during three-and-a-half seasons. In his lone season in Brooklyn, he coached the Nets to a 44-38 record and a first-round series win.
The Pistons, who are also in the midst of a front-office restructuring, have reportedly interviewed former Raptors coach Dwane Casey, Heat assistant Juwan Howard, TNT analyst Kenny Smith, Michigan coach John Beilein, Raptors assistant Nick Nurse, and Spurs assistant Ime Udoka.
