Report: 76ers hire law firm for Colangelo probe, could reach resolution this week
The Philadelphia 76ers hired law firm Paul/Weiss to investigate president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo's link to the five controversial Twitter accounts alleged to have been operated by the longtime executive, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Sixers ownership is aiming for a resolution this week, with the probe potentially leading to Colangelo's firing, sources told Wojnarowski.
The hotly discussed controversy began with an anonymous tip to The Ringer's Ben Detrick, claiming that Colangelo was apparently operating five burner Twitter accounts. The accounts were caught disclosing internal and unreported information about the franchise, as well as criticizing players and executives around the league.
It was reported last week that the investigation had now turned to Colangelo's wife.
