Report: Suns hire Joe Prunty as lead assistant
The Phoenix Suns continue to rebuild their coaching staff.
Having already brought in former Utah Jazz assistant Igor Kokoskov as their new head coach, the Suns have signed Joe Prunty to be Kokoskov's lead assistant, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Prunty has spent the last 13 years as an NBA assistant coach between the Mavericks, Trail Blazers, Cavaliers, Nets, and Bucks, after starting his career as a video coordinator and later an advance scout for the Spurs.
He took over as the Bucks' interim head coach this year after Jason Kidd was fired in January, leading the team to a 21-16 record in the final 37 games of the regular season and to a seven-game loss to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs.
On top of the reshaped coaching staff, the Suns will have a chance to revamp their roster later this month, when they pick first overall in the NBA draft.
