Bucks nab NCAA tourney star Donte DiVincenzo with No. 17 pick
With the No. 17 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks have selected Villanova guard Donte DiVincenzo.
He capped off a strong season as the Wildcats' sixth man by capturing Most Outstanding Player honors in the Final Four, scoring 31 points in Villanova's national championship game against Michigan.
DiVincenzo finished third on the team in points per game (13.4) and drilled 40.1 percent from three on 5.3 attempts per game. What the analysts are saying
"DiVincenzo put himself firmly on the NBA map with a memorable performance in the NCAA tournament championship game, and then continued his strong play at the combine. He's a versatile guard who brings toughness and aggressiveness on both ends of the floor, as well as deep range from beyond the arc. The fact that he doesn't need the ball in his hands to be successful is attractive on a roster with quite a bit of playmaking prowess already in place." - Jonathan Givony, ESPN
- "While there’s always some caution warranted with guys who drastically improve their standing through the NCAA tournament, his combine performance fortified the strong impression he left this season. DiVincenzo has impressive functional athleticism, good defensive instincts, and is an outstanding rebounder for his position. If he shoots the ball a bit more consistently, he could be more than just a role player." - Jeremy Woo, Sports Illustrated
