Spurs draft Lonnie Walker IV with No. 18 pick
With the No. 18 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the San Antonio Spurs selected Miami shooting guard Lonnie Walker IV.
Walker IV didn't post eye-popping numbers in his one-and-done but showed flashes of his potential to be an eventual go-to scorer at the next level once teammate Bruce Brown went down to injury in December.
Walker IV bounced back from a meniscus tear in the summer to average 11.5 points per game on 41.5 percent while being named to the ACC All-Freshman team.

What the analysts are saying
"Walker is an elite athlete and a strong shot-maker. His numbers don’t jump off the page, but he was injured before this season, had a short summer and didn’t have great talent around him to get the ball. He excels in spot-up situations, where a mix of burst and shooting ability makes him tailor-made to attack closeouts at the next level." - Sam Vecenie, The Athletic.
