Report: Doncic still 'strong candidate' to go to Kings at No. 2
The Sacramento Kings have been tied to a handful of players in Thursday's NBA draft, with Marvin Bagley III emerging as the most recent front-runner to go to the Kings at No. 2 overall.
Slovenian phenom Luka Doncic has largely been absent from the conversation about the Kings' ambitions with the second pick, with some reports suggesting they aren't high on the 19-year-old EuroLeague MVP. But Doncic remains a "strong candidate" to get drafted by Sacramento, sources told Yahoo's Chris Mannix.
It remains extremely difficult to get a read on how teams at the top of the draft view Doncic. The Atlanta Hawks, picking third overall, had reportedly moved him to the top of their board, but are now said to be looking to move down and draft Trae Young.
Meanwhile, lower-lottery teams like the Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Clippers have all reportedly shown interest in moving up to draft Doncic.
