Comparing Suns' Bridges to Reggie Miller's Lights of 'Uncle Drew'

With a rail-thin frame, incredibly long arms, and a feisty demeanor on full display, Reggie Miller was one of the most memorable 3-point marksmen in NBA history.

The Indiana Pacers legend - who will star as Lights in the upcoming "Uncle Drew" film - was a 39.5 percent shooter from deep, and ended his career with 2,560 made 3-pointers, the most in NBA history at the time (Miller has since been surpassed by Ray Allen).

While playing for Villanova en route to his second national title last year, small forward Mikal Bridges became a household name and was acquired through a draft-day trade by the Phoenix Suns after the Philadelphia 76ers initially took him 10th overall. Like Miller, he stands 6-foot-7 with lanky arms and a 7-foot wingspan.

While Miller was a lethal all-around scorer, he was always known best for his wizardry from deep. The same can so far be said of Bridges, who might lack the Hall of Famer's all-around talent, but connected on an incredible 43.5 percent of his triples last season.

Miller was also known as an incredibly annoying player to match up with, as he could knock even the greatest players off their game with trash talk, timely steals, and aggressive defense. Similarly, Bridges played passing lanes as well as anybody in college last year, collecting 1.5 steals a game while also providing rim-protection with more than a block per contest. While he certainly isn't as boastful as Miller was on the court, Bridges can lock down prolific scorers and effectively take them out of the game.

When Miller was drafted 11th overall in 1987, most Pacers fans booed as they wanted local Indiana star Steve Alford with the selection. It turned out to be a smart move by the Pacers, as Miller produced a legendary career while Alford scored a total of 744 career points in his four-year NBA stint.

Bridges almost became the local product of the 2018 draft when the 76ers took the Philadelphia-area talent at No. 10. Bridges' mother works for the club in human resources and conducted interviews on the television broadcast with her son. Unfortunately, that homecoming was short-lived as Bridges was quickly shipped to Phoenix for Zhaire Smith and a future first-rounder.

Will the 76ers regret giving up the hometown kid, or will Bridges turn out more like Alford than Miller? Time will tell.
