Washington Wizards assistant coach Sidney Lowe has agreed to become Dwane Casey's top assistant with the Detroit Pistons, a source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Lowe, 58, has held two head coaching jobs in the NBA, working with the Timberwolves from 1993-94 and the Grizzlies from 2000-02. He was also the head coach at his alma mater, NC State, from 2006-11.
Casey could be named NBA Coach of the Year on Monday night for his work with the Toronto Raptors, who fired him four days after being swept out of the playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
