Every winner from the 2018 NBA Awards

After months of predictions and debates, the 2018 NBA Awards show took place in Santa Monica, Calif., on Monday night, and was headlined by Houston Rockets superstar James Harden taking home his first career MVP award for the 2017-18 campaign.

Here are all the winners from this year's event:

Most Valuable Player

Harden won this award after a spectacular season for the 65-win Rockets, and also became the second player in league history to own both an MVP and a Sixth Man of the Year Award.

Most Improved Player

Victor Oladipo ran away with this award after a phenomenal season as the new alpha male for the Indiana Pacers. He beat out budding center Clint Capela of the Rockets and Spencer Dinwiddie of the Brooklyn Nets.

Sportsmanship Award

Charlotte Hornets All-Star Kemba Walker took home this award for the second straight season.

Sixth Man of the Year

Lou Williams won this award for the second time in his career after leading the Los Angeles Clippers in scoring.

Community Assist Award

Kevin Durant was given this honor for the various charity and outreach work he completed as a member of the Golden State Warriors this past season.

Rookie of the Year

Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers was named the NBA's best rookie after one of the most hotly debated award races of the season that also included Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics.

Lifetime Achievement Award

Milwaukee Bucks legend Oscar Robertson was given this honor for his contributions to the evolution of the game. He's recognized as both a pioneering black athlete and one of the driving forces behind creating free agency for NBA players.

Defensive Player of the Year

Rudy Gobert was the winner after a superb season as the anchor of the second-ranked Jazz defense. The "Stifle Tower" edged out fellow centers Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans and Joel Embiid of the 76ers.

Teammate of the Year

Seasoned veteran Jamal Crawford was rewarded for his role as a locker room leader among the young Minnesota Timberwolves core.

Hustle Award

Reserve power forward Amir Johnson of the 76ers was named the Hustle Award winner.

Coach of the Year

Despite being fired by the Toronto Raptors following their postseason exit, the newly minted bench boss of the Detroit Pistons, Dwane Casey, was given this award after leading Toronto to 59 wins and the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Sager Strong Award

Former NBA great Dikembe Mutombo was named the Sager Strong recipient for the humanitarian work he completed in his native Republic of Congo.
