Kyrie: Harden the people's MVP but LeBron the NBA's MVP
Although he doesn't win the actual award every year, there's a belief among many that LeBron James has been the most valuable player of the NBA for the past decade.
And while he left Cleveland, Kyrie Irving agrees.
"You have the people's MVP and you have, like, the NBA's MVP," Irving told Hot 97 New York's "Ebro in the Morning" Wednesday. "I think the people's MVP was definitely James (Harden), but the NBA MVP is definitely LeBron."
Harden picked up his first Maurice Podoloff Trophy at Monday's NBA Awards, beating out James and Anthony Davis.
Irving deflected questions about James' influence on his decision to demand a trade from the Cavaliers last year, but again said he was not happy in Cleveland.
"I wanted to be genuinely happy," Irving said. "After a while, being in that environment, it just wasn't conducive for me at the time."
