The Cleveland Cavaliers will extend to Rodney Hood his $3.4-million qualifying offer - making him a restricted free agent - sources told Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon.
The move is a no-brainer despite Hood's subpar playoff performances with the Cavs and Utah Jazz. The 25-year-old has the skill set to be an effective two-way player but has yet to put it together consistently.
Hood averaged only 5.4 points in 15.3 minutes per game during Cleveland's postseason run this spring.
