Report: Durant commits to re-sign with Warriors on 2-year, $61.5M deal
The Golden State Warriors have agreed to re-sign two-time reigning NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant to a two-year, $61.5-million deal, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.
The nine-time All-Star will sign the deal in the form of a one-plus-one, with a player option on the second year of the contract, league sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.
Durant will earn $30 million next season and $31.5 million in the option year, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.
The re-signing confirms that the Warriors "Hamptons Five" lineup of Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, and Draymond Green will stay together to chase another title for at least one more season.
This past season, Durant averaged 26.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. He shot 51 percent from the field, 42 percent from 3-point range, and 89 percent at the charity stripe in 68 games.
