Report: Noel's decision down to Lakers, Wizards, Thunder
Free-agent center Nerlens Noel is deciding between three teams - the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, and Oklahoma City Thunder - sources told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.
The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly also interested in signing Noel.
It's unclear whether the Lakers' reported signing of center JaVale McGee would eliminate the team as a free-agency destination for Noel.
Noel's stock has fallen since being selected No. 6 overall in 2013. After missing his entire rookie season with the Philadelphia 76ers due to injury, Noel was ultimately traded midway through the 2016-17 season to the Dallas Mavericks where he was largely stuck in coach Rick Carlisle's doghouse. In 52 appearances with the Mavericks over the past season-and-a-half, Noel has averaged 6.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and one steal in just 18.4 minutes per game.
When Noel has received steady playing time, however, he's produced much like a front-line starting big man. For his career, the 24-year-old has averaged 12.8 points, 10 rebounds, 2.2 steals, two assists, and two blocks per 36 minutes.
