Report: Mavs sign Australian forward Broekhoff to 2-year pact
The Dallas Mavericks have inked Australian small forward Ryan Broekhoff to a two-year contract, league sources told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.
The first year of the contract is reportedly guaranteed.
Broekhoff has starred for Russian side Lokomotiv Kuban, which currently plays in the EuroCup, one tier below the EuroLeague, for the past three seasons. In 16 appearances in 2017-18, the 6-foot-7 forward averaged 12.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 50.6 percent from the 3-point line. For his efforts, Broekhoff was named to the All-EuroCup first team.
The 27-year-old also represented Australia at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, averaging 7.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and two assists per game playing alongside the likes of Andrew Bogut, Patty Mills, and Joe Ingles.
