Former NBA All-Star Kermit Washington is facing time behind bars for his role in defrauding a charity of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Washington was sentenced to six years in a federal prison after pleading guilty to aggravated identity theft and making a false statement in a tax return, according to The Associated Press.
The 66-year-old Washington has been ordered to pay nearly $970,000 in restitution after spending charity funds on a litany of luxuries including plastic surgery for his girlfriend.
Washington averaged 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game over parts of 10 seasons, highlighted by an All-Star selection in 1979-80 while playing for the Portland Trail Blazers.
