James Ennis has agreed to join the Houston Rockets on a two-year contract, league sources told Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.
The contract will include a player option for the second season, Charania added.
Ennis' arrival will help offset the free-agent departures of Trevor Ariza and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, as the 28-year-old can defend multiple positions and has knocked down triples at a 35.9 percent rate over his four seasons in the league.
In 72 games played between Memphis and Detroit last year, Ennis averaged 7.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest.
