Report: Raptors have made a 'compelling' offer for Kawhi
With no guarantee on whether he'd want to stick around beyond next season, or even what his current health status is, the Toronto Raptors are still putting their best foot forward in an attempt to snag Kawhi Leonard from the San Antonio Spurs.
During an appearance on TSN's SportsCentre, ESPN's Brian Windhorst noted that the Raptors have made a "compelling offer" to San Antonio for the All-Star forward, and that team president Masai Ujiri has been negotiating with the Spurs while in Africa.
Toronto was recently deemed the betting favorite to land Leonard, with teams like the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and Los Angeles Lakers seemingly dropping out of the race - at least momentarily - due to their reluctance to part with their stars or young pieces.
Leonard can enter unrestricted free agency in the summer of 2019, and with his eyes reportedly set on heading home to Los Angeles, whether it be with the Lakers or Clippers, the Raptors could end up parting ways with important assets to acquire a rental.

Teams like the Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets, and Phoenix Suns have reportedly engaged the Spurs in talks, but the fear remains that the two-time Defensive Player of the Year will bolt to Los Angeles the first chance he gets.
