Report: Kawhi considering attending Team USA camp coached by Pop
Team USA's senior men's minicamp is set for July 25-27 in Las Vegas. Awkwardly enough, Kawhi Leonard could be there.
The disgruntled San Antonio Spurs star is among 35 players invited to attend the camp, and he's considering participating in order to re-establish his trade value after a season plagued by injury, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne.
Team USA is, of course, coached by Gregg Popovich. The Spurs bench boss was announced as the team's head coach for the 2017-20 competition cycle back in 2015.
Leonard has reportedly made it clear that he intends to move on from the Spurs organization, and the team has engaged in trade talks with a number of suitors. Until a move happens, Leonard and his inner circle remain at odds with the team that signs his checks and, by proxy, the man who will have a strong say about whether Leonard's on the American roster for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2020 Olympics.
