Ball expected to be ready for camp after successful knee surgery

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday, the team announced.

The 20-year-old floor general is expected to make a full recovery in time to take part in Lakers training camp in the fall.

When news of a torn meniscus in Ball's knee made headlines, the Lakers reportedly believed it was leaked on purpose by his camp in an effort to prevent the 2017 second overall pick from being dealt, as the team was heavily linked to San Antonio Spurs All-Star Kawhi Leonard in trade rumors at the time.

He averaged 10.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.7 steals on just 36 percent shooting during his rookie campaign in purple and gold, and was named to the All-Rookie second team.
