Report: Sixers discussed acquiring Korver from Cavs
The Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly been discussing a deal to acquire Kyle Korver from the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for combo guard Jerryd Bayless, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer's Keith Pompey.
The Sixers lack shooting talent to support young stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons after losing Ersan Ilyasova and Marco Belinelli over the offseason. They were able to re-sign JJ Redick, but have been in search of elite jump shooting and floor spacing for their bench unit this summer.
Meanwhile, Cleveland is reportedly looking to unload the remaining $15 million left on Korver's two-year deal, according to Cleveland.com's Terry Pluto, likely to open cap space for next summer.
Bayless is on an expiring deal worth $8.6 million, and Philly was reportedly pondering the possibility of buying out the veteran guard to make room for LeBron James before the superstar forward sign with the Lakers.
