Report: Cavaliers interested in Booker, Babbitt
The Cleveland Cavaliers are keeping tabs on a pair of free-agent forwards still without a home.
Both Trevor Booker and Luke Babbitt have been in talks with the Cavaliers, although no deal is imminent, league sources told Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon.
Booker opened the 2017-18 regular season with the Brooklyn Nets before being dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers in December for a package which included Jahlil Okafor. The Sixers waived Booker in February before the Indiana Pacers scooped him up in March to close out the campaign and be a part of the roster for their playoff run.
He averaged 6.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists on 51.6 percent shooting across 68 appearances with all three squads.
Babbitt had a limited role with the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat, contributing 5.2 points and shooting 38.5 percent from 3-point range.
Cleveland has been relatively quiet this offseason since losing LeBron James to the Los Angeles Lakers. They waived veteran big man Kendrick Perkins, and then brought back 35-year-old sharpshooter Channing Frye on a one-year, $2.4-million contract.
The organization was recently linked to the Philadelphia 76ers in a potential swap involving Kyle Korver and Jerryd Bayless.
