New Washington Wizards center Dwight Howard is confident a spot in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame awaits him once his NBA career comes to an end.

"I don't really concern myself with what a lot of people say about me," Howard told TMZ Sports on Wednesday. "My resume speaks for itself.

"I know what I've done in this NBA, in my career. I think I've been pretty successful. A lot of times people always want to hate, say something bad about who you are as a player and a person. That's just really a testament to their character."

According to Basketball-Reference.com's HOF probability metric, Howard currently has a 99.3 percent chance of getting enshrined.

The 32-year-old big man is an eight-time All-Star who's made five appearances on the All-NBA First Team since entering the Association in 2004. He's also one of just three players to have won the Defensive Player of the Year Award on three or more occasions.

Howard averaged 16.6 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks last season with the Charlotte Hornets. He joins Washington on a two-year, $11-million contract, which includes a player option.
