The Dallas Mavericks are hoping to finalize a new one-year contract with veteran point guard Devin Harris within the next day, sources tell Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.
The 35-year-old has played for Dallas in parts of nine seasons since being drafted No. 5 overall in 2004. Harris currently ranks 10th all-time in Mavericks history with 540 regular-season games played.
Through 14 seasons overall, Harris has averaged 11.1 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game. In 71 games last season - including 27 appearances with the Denver Nuggets after a midseason trade - Harris averaged 8.4 points and 2.1 assists per game.
Harris was an All-Star selection in 2008-09 as a member of the then-New Jersey Nets.
