The Los Angeles Clippers have waived wing C.J. Williams, league sources told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.
It's a surprising reversal, as the 28-year-old had signed a multi-year deal with the Clippers in April. Charania reported the contract was for three years.
Williams was a pleasant surprise last season, whose opportunity was born out of the Clippers' litany of early season injury woes. In 17 starts last season, the undrafted shooting guard averaged 7.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 26 minutes per game. He made 38 appearances in 2017-18 overall.
