Report: Bucks, Muhammad reach agreement on deal

Shabazz Muhammad is sticking around in Milwaukee a little while longer.

The 25-year-old has reportedly agreed to a contract with the Bucks, league sources told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

The deal is reportedly close to being completed, but not officially done, and would allow Muhammad to compete for the final roster spot in training camp, a source told the Journal Sentinel's Matt Velazquez.

Milwaukee currently has 14 players under guaranteed contracts, with all teams allowed to hold up to 20 players before cutting their roster down to 15 prior to the start of the regular season.

Muhammad made 32 appearances with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2017-18 before getting waived by the organization in March. He then signed with Milwaukee just days later, and would go on to average 6.3 points on 45 percent shooting in limited minutes off the bench in four playoff games during Round 1 against the Boston Celtics.

The Bucks are swimming in depth at the two and three spots, which is why it's difficult to imagine Muhammad's role expanding behind the likes of All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, former Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon, and Tony Snell, should he make the cut.
