Love shares what LeBron told him after he opened up about mental health
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love went public with his mental health struggles earlier this year, detailing a panic attack he suffered during a third-quarter timeout against the Atlanta Hawks in a piece for The Players' Tribune.
Love's then-teammate LeBron James was among the NBA players who tweeted their support, but it was what he said on the team bus afterward that left the biggest impact.
Love spoke about the conversation in an interview with Carson Daly of "The TODAY Show."
"It was a special moment for me because we sat towards the end of the bus. He kind of said, 'Hey, do you have a moment?' He stopped me and shook my hand, looked me in my eye and said, 'You helped a lot of people today. It's important,'" Love recalled. "That was super powerful for me because not only is he the best athlete in the world, best basketball player in the world, but his influence and having my back with that was super important to me."
The full interview will air Monday.
