Longtime NBA executive Glen Grunwald is joining the Memphis Grizzlies as a consultant, he told the Toronto Star's Doug Smith.
Grunwald is leaving his position as athletic director at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He was previously the general manager of both the Toronto Raptors and the New York Knicks, and is remembered most for swinging the draft-night trade for Vince Carter while overseeing Toronto in 1998.
Meanwhile, sources told Smith that Grunwald has also had preliminary discussions with Canada Basketball about its vacant executive director position.
