Manu Ginobili announces retirement after 16 seasons
San Antonio Spurs legend and future Hall of Famer Manu Ginobili announced his retirement after 16 NBA seasons via Twitter on Monday.

Reports last week indicated Ginobili was seriously considering retirement despite continually being an effective on-court presence.
Ginobili, 40, leaves the game as one of the most selfless and crafty basketball players to enter the Association. The two-time All-NBA guard willingly came off the bench for most of his prime to give the Spurs an elite scoring sixth man.
The Argentine spent all his pro years with the Spurs, winning four championships beside Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, as well as earning Sixth Man of the Year honors in 2008.
Ginobili averaged 13.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists across 1057 career games.
