Ray Allen says he's talked about 'He Got Game' sequel with Spike Lee

Twenty years after its release, Spike Lee's "He Got Game" still stands as a landmark basketball movie.

Ray Allen was a young Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard when he was cast as the film's main character Jesus Shuttlesworth, and he hinted Thursday that a sequel may be in the works.

"There's so much more to that movie that we've got to continue," Allen told ESPN's Rachel Nichols. "Spike and I have talked on several occasions. We just recently had ... a 20-year reunion. The biggest key is getting Denzel Washington on board."

Lee's film was a family drama that also served as a biting, almost satirical look at the college basketball recruitment process. The soundtrack was scored by Public Enemy. Washington played Allen's father, with several real-life NCAA coaches making cameos.

Allen will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday night.
