Report: Monta Ellis among free agents to work out for T-Wolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves recently worked out free agents Monta Ellis and Brandon Rush as they continue to evaluate veteran options, according to The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski and Shams Charania.

Minnesota added forward Luol Deng on Monday and will apparently continue to search for answers on the wing after Jamal Crawford declined his $4.5-million player option earlier this summer.

Ellis sat out the 2017-18 campaign after playing two seasons for the Indiana Pacers, during which he struggled to regain the form that previously made him one of the elite scorers in the league. Over 12 years in the NBA, the 6-foot-3 guard has averaged 17.8 points on 15.2 shots per game.

His best years came in Golden State as Stephen Curry's backcourt mate in Curry's first two NBA seasons, when Ellis averaged 24.7 points across the 2009-10 and 2010-11 campaigns.

Rush has struggled to maintain a consistent playing career thanks to injury troubles. He played 47 games with Minnesota two seasons ago, averaging 4.2 points and 21.9 minutes per contest.
