The Andrew Wiggins-Jimmy Butler pairing didn't go as smoothly as planned during their first year together with the Minnesota Timberwolves and it appears the supposed discord between the teammates is very real.

It was reported earlier Wednesday that Butler has requested a trade from the Timberwolves, asking to be sent to a club with which he'd be willing to sign a contract extension.

Nick Wiggins, Andrew's older brother, couldn't be happier about this development. The elder Wiggins has since deleted his tweet but the internet remains undefeated:

Butler averaged 22.2 points per game last season while shooting a career-best 47.4 percent from the field, adding 5.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists. He was named an All-Star for the fourth consecutive year and an All-NBA third-teamer for the second straight season.

The 29-year-old met with Timberwolves general manager Scott Layden and head coach/president Tom Thibodeau on Monday to discuss his future with the franchise.

Butler steered the Timberwolves to a 47-35 record, helping his team sneak into the Western Conference playoffs for the first time since 2004 before seeing his team bounced in the first round in five games by the Houston Rockets. It wasn't a seamless transition, with Butler apparently taking issue with Wiggins' purported lack of work ethic and reportedly becoming fed up with Karl-Anthony Towns' attitude.
