Giannis: 'People are going to be excited' about 1st signature shoe
Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has exciting things in store for his first signature shoe with Nike.
Antetokounmpo signed a long-term deal with the brand in November and provided an update on the Greek Freak 1s in an interview with Jarrel Harris of Sports Illustrated.
"It has been great," he said of working with Nike. "I have a lot of things on the shoe that is going to be really surprising and I think we did a great job. People are going to be excited. The shoe fits into my personality. I am very excited about my signature shoe."
Antetokounmpo also plans to take advantage of the NBA's new relaxed sneaker policy this season.
"It is going to be a lot of fun with different colorways," he said. "I usually don't go too crazy but with the new year, I am going to try to throw some crazy colorways on. Nike is going to send me some crazy shoes so everyone better be on the watch."
A release date for the Greek Freak 1s has yet to be announced, but a possible preview of the shoes surfaced online last month.
