Jordan Bell discusses stalker experience that forced him to move
Golden State Warriors forward Jordan Bell and his girlfriend had a frightening experience with a stalker last season that led to them moving out of their apartment.
As first detailed by Logan Murdock of the San Jose Mercury News in June, Bell picked up the stalker after posting a promotional ad on Instagram from the balcony of his apartment in Oakland.
Bell went into more details about the stalker after practice Monday.
"I kept seeing him every day. He would just be standing outside, wearing glasses, had a backpack," Bell told reporters. "I'm thinking he's just a fan who wants an autograph, but he was there every single day, and I was like, 'That's kind of weird, you know exactly where I live.'
"He asked me to sign an autograph, and like, for a week, every day I did it, because I was like, I just got here, so I wasn't signing autographs like crazy, like that. And then we played the Spurs, I believe, the first time, and my girlfriend was walking our dogs outside, and he came up behind her and was like, 'Yo, is Jordan here?' And she was like, freaked out ... it's dark, she's by herself ... he was bigger than her, so she was frightened. She said he looked like a creep. After that, I just had to move."
Bell and his girlfriend found a new apartment, but he said he's still dealing with some legal issues as a result of breaking his old lease. He's also a lot more careful about what he shares on social media these days.
