Bucks sell 10,000 season tickets for 1st time in franchise history
Milwaukee Bucks fans can't wait to see Giannis Antetokounmpo in his new home.
The Bucks set a franchise record for season tickets after making their 10,000th sale on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell. That puts them 11th in ticket sales for this season, Rovell adds.
The previous record was established in 1989 when the team sold just under 9,000 tickets when the Bradley Center first opened its doors.
Antetokounmpo, along with head coach Mike Budenholzer, will play at the newly-renovated Fiserv Forum this season. The $524-million facility first opened in late-August and will play host to both the Bucks and Marquette men's basketball team.
Milwaukee sold as few as 2,500 season tickets as recently as 2014, when Wes Edens and Marc Lasry first purchased the team from Herb Kohl. The franchise has since doubled in value thanks in large part to the emergence of Antetokounmpo as a possible MVP candidate.
