Klay Thompson is evidently not too worried that his Golden State Warriors now share a division with LeBron James, the latest in a long list of superstars to join the Los Angeles Lakers.

The son of former Lakers mainstay and current radio color commentator Mychal Thompson is appreciative the team is returning to prominence on the hardwood.

"I think it's pretty cool," the Warriors' swingman said, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell. "I don't think you would have guessed it when he was with the Cavs when he started his rookie season, but it's adding a ton of interest in the league, and the Lakers are about to get the usual media coverage that I was used to growing up."

Thompson believes that James' presence brings the best out of everyone on the floor. He expects the level of play between the two teams to remain high now that the four-time MVP has changed uniforms.

"Well the times we've seen him he's always been at the top of the East during the Finals," said Thompson. "And those games are always intense."

The first matchup between the Warriors and the new-look Lakers (albeit preseason) is set for Wednesday night in Las Vegas before they meet again Friday in San Jose. The first game that actually counts will take place at the Warriors' home base in Oakland on Christmas Day.
