Report: Butler participated in heated practice with Timberwolves
Jimmy Butler took part in his first practice of training camp with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. But the session reportedly consisted of the four-time All-Star verbally challenging teammates and members of the front office, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Butler reportedly targeted teammates Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, as well as team president and head coach Tom Thibodeau and general manager Scott Layden during the heated practice.
Wojnarowski's sources said that at one point, Butler yelled to Layden, "You (bleeping) need me. You can't win without me."
Butler has reportedly reiterated his desire to be dealt by Minnesota, telling Thibodeau on multiple occasions that he will not re-sign with the franchise when his contract is up next summer.
The Miami Heat have been Butler's most aggressive suitor, refusing to give up on a potential trade for the disgruntled star. Minnesota has reportedly not had serious conversations with any team outside of the Heat.
