Report: Spurs waive Ginobili to finalize roster

It was a mere formality.
The San Antonio Spurs waived veteran guard Manu Ginobili on Monday to finalize their 2018-19 roster, league sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Ginobili, 41, announced his retirement from professional basketball Aug. 27 but had one year remaining on his contract with the Spurs for $2.5 million.

The Argentine was selected 57th overall by the organization in the 1999 draft and went on to capture four championships as a Spur across 16 seasons.
