Nike unveils opening-week shoes for Tatum, Kuzma, Doncic, others
Some NBA youngsters are already taking full advantage of the Association's relaxed sneaker policy.
Last month, Nike invited nine rookie and sophomore players from the NBA to the company's headquarters in Oregon to design their own shoes for opening week using the NikeiD system. Nike unveiled the kicks Monday.
Here's what the NBA players came up with:
Colin Sexton
Sexton's Kyrie 4 "Different" was inspired by his parents, whose first initials appear on the tongue.
De'Aaron Fox
Fox's interest in the solar system served as the inspiration behind his Kobe A.D. "Mars."
Frank Ntilikina
Ntilikina paid tribute to his home country with the KD 11 "France." The FP on the heel represents his nickname, "French Prince."
Jayson Tatum
The colorway on Tatum's PG 2 "Coloring Book" is inspired by his 10-month-old son, Jayson Tatum Jr.
Jordan Bell
Bell's PG 2 "Long Beach" features Golden State Warriors colors and personalized details from his hometown of Long Beach, Calif.
Kyle Kuzma
Kuzma incorporated the Los Angeles Lakers' purple and gold colors into his Kobe A.D. "Kuzz Kontrol."
Luca Doncic
Doncic's Kyrie Low "Retro Glow" features a glow-in-the-dark outsole and his No. 77 on the tongue.
